How I Became a Mortgage Advisor
Kathy Nau has been selected consecutively since 2010 as one of Colorado’s top producing mortgage professionals chosen by Five Star Professional Mortgage. Kathy’s path to Mortgage Planner developed by blending her modest Midwest upbringing with three decades of mortgage advisory experience. Holding her first job at 13 to augment money for school supplies, she learned the value of hard work and solving problems. As a Credit Analyst for ITT Financial Services, she analyzed credit documents and made recommendations for client’s home loan requests. Recognizing she could make a difference by working directly with the consumer, Kathy chose to become a Mortgage Advisor.
Educating her clients on how their mortgage can meet their immediate home loan needs but also how to build equity through homeownership is satisfying. Kathy’s approach is to inform the client on all home loan options and explain the pros and cons of each plan and recommending a loan tailored to that goal.
“The number one most important thing to me is I want to partner with a client as they grow and evolve from their first home, dream home, investment property to a reverse mortgage in retirement. Ultimately, If I can educate my clients, no matter their stage in life about finances, investing and creating wealth with real estate, they’ll teach their children – together we can create generational change!”

Remember Buffy the Vampire Slayer – Kathy is the financial version! She has the acumen and skill for solving sticky loan challenges. When she realizes a tough loan CAN be done – she springs into action with gusto! She thrives on making the impossible – possible!
Kathy is genuine as she evolves with every client providing a uniquely personal loan experience. Excelling with advice on financial strategies for each buyer to meet their personal loan preferences; creating wealth and, often times, generational change – this is why Kathy is recommended over and over again.
In between devotion to her clients, Kathy’s home away from home is Ski Town USA, Steamboat Springs, CO. Some of her adventures include scuba diving, rappelling, and skydiving. At the end of the week, you’ll catch her at happy hour with family or friends. A self-proclaimed newspaper and book nerd – she reads three newspapers a day and 2-3 books a month. She’s quoted, “That’s what I do. I read books, I drink wine, I know things!”

Heather is a meticulous mortgage whiz knowing our underwriters on a personal level and determining the best lender to place complicated loan files with. Joining the Team in 2018, she excels at calming nervous buyers, examining multiple loan documents and is cool under pressure. Heather has seen it all, which is why she’s in charge of everything that happens in those critical stages after a buyer goes under contract.
In addition to her unflappable demeanor, she brings versatility to her role as a Mortgage Loan Partner. On any given day you can find her explaining to clients why certain forms are needed and guiding underwriters through the nuanced details of a client’s tax returns.
Did we mention she enjoys live music and rock bands? No wonder she’s ready to rock and roll with any loan scenario and find solutions for financing! Heather also makes time for Florida beach getaways, roots for the Texas Tech Raiders and rejuvenates when walking the Colorado Foothills.

Like a NASCAR pit crew, Emily brings calm and organization to our fast-paced group. Her easy-going manner allows her to adeptly button up our loan approvals and get closing departments on the move. Joining the team in 2019, Emily has a warm smile with a pep in her step and is an essential asset to help us implement a superior customer experience.
It’s a well-kept secret that Emily loves roller coasters, her favorite being the X2 at Six Flags. Camping in The Rocky Mountains, making her favorite treat Caramel Corn, and winning a round of the lively game Code Names are her passions!
